Small Business Rate Relief
If you receive Small Business Rate Relief I do hope you’ve applied for the Grants available. These opened over a week ago now and it is a very easy process to follow.
Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
Today the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme opened for anyone who has had to furlough their staff. You’ll need all your payroll details, so make sure you have everything to hand before you start.

Self-employment Income Support Scheme
The Self-employment Income Support Scheme isn’t open yet, but be prepared and pull all your paperwork together, so you’re ready to go as soon as the Scheme opens. Here’s a link to the list of what you’ll need.

Unfortunately, it’s becoming clear that some businesses in the town do not fall into any of the above schemes and are now anxious about how they will survive and we’re trying to find out what help is available for them.
As usual, the Chamber will be taking part in the weekly phone call with Lewes District Council (Wednesday 22nd). If you have business concerns that you can’t find the answers to online please email us by Tuesday evening and we will compile your concerns and raise questions to the Council on your behalf.
We’re asking for emails so we have evidence based questions and we’ll be able to get back to you with any answers we receive.
This is a very difficult time for all of us, so anything Lewes Chamber of Commerce can do to help you, please do let us know.
If you know someone who could benefit from this email, please do forward it to them.
I wish to you all well and keep safe.
Clare Crouch
President
Lewes Chamber of Commerce
